Utility Cloud now supports user teams – a new way to organize your workforce and assign work to groups instead of managing individual assignments one by one.
What are teams?
A team is a named group of users who share responsibility for work. Every team has a name, at least one account, and at least one assigned user. You can also add a description, designate up to 5 team leads, and configure availability for each day of the week.
Teams don't replace individual user assignments. You can assign a work order or route to a team, to individual users, or both – they're fully independent.
What you can do with teams
Create and manage teams
A new Team Search page lets you find, view, and create teams. From there, you can open any team's details to see its members, assigned accounts, availability, and each member's current workload at a glance.
Three new security rights – View Teams, Create Teams, and Edit Teams – control who can access and manage teams within your organization.
For full details on creating and editing teams, see Teams.
Assign teams to work orders and routes
A new Teams dropdown is available when creating or editing work orders, routes, and work order triggers. You can assign one or more teams alongside – or instead of – individual users. When you change a team assignment on a route, the change automatically propagates to all open and in-progress work orders on that route.
Search by team
New Team search facets are available in both Work Order Search and User Search, so you can quickly filter results by team membership or team assignment.
Build smarter work queues
A new Team criterion joins the recently added Assignee, Route, Work Order Status, Priority, Type, Due, and Asset Tag criteria in the Work Queue Editor, giving you even more control over what work your field crews download for offline use.
Coming soon
Team-based work order notifications and auto-generated team work queues are on the way. Keep an eye on the 2026 release notes for updates.
