Contractor Portal in AMCS Field Worker
Utility Cloud has taken a major step forward in optimizing collaboration with external contractors by introducing a new Contractor Portal in the AMCS Field Worker application. This exciting feature empowers organizations to seamlessly assign work to contractors while ensuring limited, secure access to the Utility Cloud ecosystem. Our Contractor Portal is here to streamline contractor operations and enhance productivity across the board.
With the Contractor Portal, Utility Cloud now allows registered contractor users to access a tailored experience through the AMCS Field Worker application. Contractors can locate and complete work orders specifically flagged for them, log completed tasks, and access relevant data—all from an intuitive mobile-first dashboard. These changes provide a clean, focused, and secure workflow experience for external teams.
What’s New?
Work Order Lookup & QR Code Scanner
Locate and assign work orders in seconds. Contractors can either:
Use the Work Order Lookup Tool to search for jobs by ID, or
Coming soon: scan the unique QR Code attached to an asset to automatically view and complete work orders tied to that asset.
Contractor-Specific Views
New detail views for Work Orders and Assets give contractors the information they need, filtered to only relevant details.
Key Features of the Contractor Portal
Credentialed Contractor Users
Contractors can now receive credentialed users with limited access to the system.
Contractors must verify their email, accept terms and conditions, and set up their personal password.
Once authenticated, contractors will only access work orders and assets specifically flagged for contractor use.
Flagging Work Orders for Contractors
New functionality allows supervisors to flag specific work orders or routes as available to contractors.
Work orders that are not flagged will remain invisible to contractor users, ensuring limited access and security.
Contractors can view and complete only the work orders flagged as available to them.
Contractor Portal
A newly designed Contractor Portal within AMCS Field Worker serves as the central hub for contractor operations and provides key functionality:
Contractors can utilize all existing core functionality of AMCS Field Worker, both online and offline.
Contractors gain limited read-only access to assets associated with their work orders.
New, contractor-specific views of Work Order Details and Asset Details provide essential task context without revealing sensitive or unrelated information.
How It Works
Creating a Contractor User
Contractors are added like any other Utility Cloud user.
Administrators mark these users as contractors with a new flag during user creation.
Contractors receive access to the AMCS Field Worker, only restricted to contractor-specific work orders.
Assigning Work Orders
Supervisors can flag work orders or routes as available to contractors when creating or editing them.
Work queues automatically populate with contractor-flagged work orders, excluding other work.
Finding Work Orders
Contractors can access work orders through work queues in AMCS Field Worker using standard My Open Work Orders queues or specifically-created queues.
Use the Work Order Lookup Tool to find unassigned contractor work orders by ID or, coming soon, scanning asset tags with the QR Code Scanner.
Completing Work
Once found, contractors can complete their work the same as any standard user in AMCS Field Worker.
